Meet our Founder
Grew up in a traditional artisan village in Northern Vietnam, Chi An watched weavers pull intricate patterns through water hyacinth fibers with practiced ease, and lived surrounded by the luminous glow of shell-inlaid furniture.
But as she grew older, she noticed a quiet disconnect. Her own generation wasn't using these objects. Because traditional forms struggled to fit into contemporary spaces, the craft remained deeply alive, but it was standing still.
A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE
Seeking a bridge between past and present, Chi An studied abroad.
Along the way, she began collecting design references the way others collect souvenirs. The airy, coastal minimalism of Scandinavia, the warm, eclectic interiors of the American South, the bold, graphic confidence of mid-century European tableware. In 2019, Chi An Home was founded.
The Birth of Chi An Home
Chi An Home was founded with one clear ambition.
"To bring the traditional crafts of Vietnam into the contemporary home." Not as cultural artifacts. Not as souvenirs. As fully designed, functional pieces that belong on a coffee table in London, sideboard in Sydney, dining room in New York — wherever people live beautifully and care about what their objects are made from.

Our network provides stable, BSCI-certified employment for over 600 artisan households. We pay above-market wages to honor their incredible skill, while collaborating directly with our teams to improve tooling, ergonomics, and planning.
